The Campus Center at Farmingdale State College gets Long Island Business News’ 2013 Real Estate Development Award

This new Campus Center is designed to be LEED® Silver Certified.  The 50,000-square-foot, $25 million facility encompasses large dining rooms, a multipurpose room, student lounges, a book store, game rooms, convenient store, and student offices. The Center also includes storage and recycling rooms for students and staff to apply green habits. Some of the challenges that were addressed include developing a viable and successful stand-alone facility that enhances the campus’ image and portal for convenient campus entry. The design also had to anticipate a future project that will require the demolition of the rear portion of a neighboring building to create a plaza/open area.
